Swinging in the sand !

I feel I should write a poem...Don't worry, I won't.

Oh - whew! Anyway, what could you write about swings that I would understand?

Mood swings? Swing states? Swingers? Carol swingers? Swings 'ain't what they used t' be?

I would like to commision a poem about Merriam-Webster definition 2: "an act of moving something (as a bat) rapidly in a sweeping curve."

Don't you have Carol swingers in Canada, going door to door singing God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen? I have to switch the lights off and pretend I'm not in.

Well, I'm not in Canada, I'm in the unruly country to the south. We call them carol singers, because swingers are an entirely different type of group. Really, we just say carollers. I haven't seen any since the 1960s, but I think that depends upon what neighborhood you live in.
