It's a lot of work and makes for a sweltering experience. (Japan is hot and humid in the first place, then add a pot of boiling liquid on your table...) But, the result is delicious. Here was part of my dinner:

Exactly. With Kobe beef, something I never thought I would have. I rarely eat beef, so it was daunting to have a huge platter of it put down in front of us. It did live up to its reputation, though.
