1920s vintage passenger lobby

Amtrak train station interior. The benches and art deco lighting fixtures are original. One day I'll take a trip.

Diane Putnam replied to Gudrun:

This was full of activity until the 1960s. Now there is only one passenger train passing through per day. Thanks so much, Gudrun.

You could do a day trip to Eugene or Albany getting back late at night, the trip going would provide some interesting views.

Diane Putnam replied to Don Barrett (aka DBs…:

Yes, I could. Funny, I've never thought of doing that - what's wrong with me? I haven't been on a train since I was about 10 years old.

Don Barrett (aka DBs… replied to Diane Putnam:

Train trips don't have near the "romance" they once had, but I've done the LA/SF trip a number of times and they're still wonderful views of the backyards and inaccessible parts of the country, plus the people who do trains are usually fascinating.
