Know it is a necessity, but hate ads on the outfield wall !

With a passion do I ! There is a beautiful ballpark in Lakeland Florida - has been used by Detroit Tigers for Spring Training for eons .. and is used by Class A Lakeland Tigers -
Up until a few years ago - it was one of the hold-outs not having ads on the wall ... but, gave in.... sigh - though the light standards are still there with Osprey nests in them !

Am enjoying these photos, Diane !

Oh, good, I'm glad you are! I guess I'm kind of indifferent on the issue of signs, although the major league ones are distractingly GIGANTIC!

I do hate the stadiums named for corporate sponsors, though.

Also dislike stadiums named after big business .. what was wrong with Fulton County or Turner Field?
Now that the Atlanta Braves are in the new digs at ' Sun Trust' - whatever comes next.. so many of the wonderful people who worked at Turner Field couldn't make the change. It was moved so far from them.
My husband and a FL friend loved talking to the friendly folks .. they did remember them from year to year ! Of course, wearing a Cubs shirt in a Braves ballpark will get you remembered.
Mr C said once when they were going to cross the road to the ballpark, the FL friend asked the traffic person if he would stop traffic for them. Looked at them both.." not for somebody with a Cubs shirt - but you can go"... it was always fun ..
Big business has helped and not helped ..

So far, Wrigley Field is still Wrigley Fleld ~
