Lake Ewauna, the beginning of Klamath River

This lake used to be lined with several lumber mills, even a box factory, beginning in the late 19th century. It was covered with floating logs ready to be loaded into the mills. They gradually shut down and the last one was closed about 15 years ago. It was torn down about not long after that.

It's a lovely section of town. There have been plans in the past to develop it as mixed-use residential and commercial property. Nothing much has happened - there's just not enough money in this community for a "Timbermill Shores."

Nice shot, makes the area look more idyllic than it is.

Lol! Well, this particular view really is idyllic. I was here all alone in the late afternoon and it was pretty and peaceful, with many happy geese and ducks. As for the odd industrial scene nearby, I actually like that, too. (Maybe I need help!) Thanks, Don!

Well if you need help due to interest in abandoned industrial scenes, then many of us who follow your pictures need help too :)
