Souvenir pour Alain Granade ( Granad'A ) ... aimé ou détesté ... grande gueule mais grand coeur ... impliqué à fond dans des réunions d'Ipernitiens dans sa belle région grenobloise ! R.I.P. !
Souvenir pour Vilmar Vidor ... discret et excellent photographe ... apprécié de tous ... et dont Valeriane conserve le souvenir à travers son groupe " Couleur verte ... ". R.I.P.
I came here to post about him, but am happy to see you already have, David. I have thought about "spacemouses" on occasion after his death. His photos were so beautiful and his cats were a delight! He was such an interesting man., an American of Irish descent from Kentucky (was it?) who had moved back to his ancestral land late in life. He lived in near-complete solitude. It's very sad to see that his Page is wiped from Ipernity, as his photography was beautiful. Oh well, even our photo pages die, don't they?
Sadly we can only create pages for those people we know about, and apparently I missed hearing about spacemouse before their account was deleted. I don't have a record of deleting their account, so it's possible that family members deleted it.
I will try and do a better job at checking this page before deleting accounts.
From May 2013 through November 2015, the month he passed away, John, known here as MewDeep6, was a very active member here. He shared photography of the Chicago area, but as an artist and designer, his passion was sharing old paper ephemera, pop culture and ads, which were an influence on him. He started his page on another popular photo site, and brought it here when that site's redesign displeased him. He loved it here. It is because of him I moved here, and I have heard two other people say the very same thing.
His large page, which was being paid for yearly by his sister and I, was deleted by someone here in 2018. The effect of that is still felt. It was his memorial online, through which his memory was being kept alive for the world at large, and for those who knew him. (In the three years immediately after his passing, his page views continued growing, because so many sites around the net referenced his research and the collecting reflected in his pages.)
It is impossible to be too careful before deleting a page. If you don't know, please ask quite a few people. Or better yet, make any proposed deletion of an account a public question, in a team thread.
I too miss the spacemouses page. I hope no one deletes the Stormlizard pages.
Thank you for writing about John (MewDeep6). I do not know the circumstances that led to the deletion of his page (I was not involved with the board back in 2018), but I can say I am very sorry for what happened.

I instigated our 'in memoria' page a few years ago. As of now our informal policy is to keep accounts of those club members who have passed away. At a minimum their most recent 100 images are retained.
We do try and ask as many people as we can for members we are unsure about. We ask that people inform us as soon as they know about any of our club members who have passed away.

On opposite sides of the ocean, we met in here. Always checked on each other.
I would hope Ipernity would keep the 'Give Peace a Chance' photo so many of us commented on each Monday -Wednesday - Friday posted in her memory.
Living in Poland, she knew what the Ukranian people are going through - as Poland suffered at the hands of the Russian leaders so many times.
Marta - I will miss you so much,
