Zamora capital. La catedral es románica pero tiene un claustro renacentista, muy austero que ciertamente recuerda a El Escorial. Y curioso, fue construido en el siglo XVII y le hubiera correspondido ser barroco, quizás fue a finales de siglo cuando el clasicismo y el racionalismo comenzaron de nuevo a emerger. Fue diseñado por Juan de Ribera Rada en estilo escurialense o herreriano.

I'm happy that I saw the stylistic resemblence! It certainly seems worth a visit. I'll have to persuade my girlfriend to have another weekend away; perhaps The Sierra deFrancia, Zamora and back to Madrid via Ribero de Duero and some winetasting! I'll have to work on it!
