The Augustinian abbey of La Roë, made of pink sandstone, was founded in 1098. It is still possible to appreciate the architectural achievement of the abbey church, which dates back to the early 12th century. It had its heyday in the Middle Ages, then was abandoned during the French Revolution and began to revive in the 18th century, with the reconstructions of the abbot's flat and the monastery buildings that still exist.

BARRIERE D'ABBAYE. L'abbaye augustinienne de la Roë en grès rose est fondée en 1098. Il est encore possible de se rendre compte de l'œuvre architecturale de l'église abbatiale qui date du début du XIIe siècle. Elle a connu ses heures de gloire au Moyen Âge. Abandonnée à la Révolution, l'abbaye commence à renaître au XVIIIe siècle, avec les reconstructions du logis de l'abbé et les bâtiments conventuels qui existent encore.

ABTEIZAUN. Die Augustinerabtei La Roë aus rosafarbenem Sandstein wurde im Jahr 1098 gegründet. Noch heute wird wird man sich des architektonischen Werkes der Abteikirche bewusst, die aus dem frühen 12. Jh. stammt. Sie erlebte ihre Glanzzeit im Mittelalter, wurde dann während der frz. Revolution aufgegeben und begann im 18. Jh. wieder aufzuleben, mit den Rekonstruktionen der Wohnung des Abtes und den noch existierenden Klostergebäuden.
