Une aurore boréale a illuminé les cieux...

...de Saint-Ségal lundi soir (Photo Yann Borel). Un phénomène rare que j'ai pu observer la dernière (et seule) fois en 1989 sur nos latitudes. Hier et avant-hier, je n'ai vu que quelques lueurs à l'horizon vers le nord. L'article entier se trouve ici.

On Monday evening, an aurora borealis illuminated the skies of Saint-Ségal (Photo Yann Borel). A rare phenomenon, which I last (and only) saw in our latitudes in 1989. Yesterday and the day before, I only saw bright glows on the northern horizon.

Am Montagabend erhellten Nordlichter den Himmel von Saint-Ségal (Foto: Yann Borel). Ein seltenes Phänomen, das ich das letzte (und einzige) Mal 1989 in unseren Breitengraden beobachten konnte. Gestern und vorgestern habe ich nur ein helles Glühen am nördlichen Horizont gesehen.

Danke Makrofan, ich selbst hätte auch gern solche Aufnahmen gemacht, doch damals (1989) hatte ich noch keine richtige Fotoausrüstung - aber diese Bilder sind für immer in meinem Gedächtnis registriert!

Danke Edna, ich auch (Sonnenfinsternis), da waren wir damals in der Nähe von Cherbourg, ganz oben nördlich auf der Halbinsel Cotentin, auch ein tolles Erlebnis. Wo hast du sie gesehen ?

Merci Henri, je crois me souvenir que celle de mars 1989 était descendue jusqu'en Galice, c'était un spectacle FABULEUX. Et pour cette photo : oui, Yann Borel a eu de la chance de voir (et photographier) un tel ciel breton. Bonne journée.

Thanks Peter, it's not my photo, and I would have liked to see the same sky. But in my region I only saw bright glows on the Northern horizon.

Ich habe sie an einem ganz unspektakulären ort (also im vergleich zur halbinsel Cotentin) gesehen, nämlich auf einem acker mit obstbäumen in Durmersheim :-))
Davon gibt's jede menge fotos auch welche von uns (war ein internationales grüppchen von leuten) mit diesen tollen sonnenfinsternis-brillen ;-)) Ich hätte sie aufheben sollen für die nächste sonnenfinsternis, aber ich bin ja jemand, der im frühjahr gern aufräumt und alles unnütze wegschmeisst ;-)))

Merci Jean-Pierre, celle que j'ai eu la chance de voir en mars 1989 était exceptionnelle, avec de larges bandes de jaune, vert et rouge descendant du ciel.

Leider war es bei uns bewölkt. Sonst wäre ich auch aufgestanden und hätte in der Nacht nach Nordlichtern geschaut. Und natürlich versucht, sie im Bild festzuhalten. In meine Familie wird berichtet, dass selbst hier in Süddeutschland schon einmal Nordlichter zu sehen waren.
