➽ Die Apsis- und Chorausmalung (PiP) der Herz Jesu Kirche weist eine reiche Ornamentik auf und ist in den für den Jugendstil typischen Farben Gold, Violett, Oliv und Weiß gehalten. Das reiche Bildprogramm ist vom Bauherrn, Stadtpfarrer Anton Schwab, in sich geschlossen konzipiert: Die seit Adam und Eva sündige, erlösungsbedürftige Menschheit wurde durch die allerbarmende Liebe des göttlichen Herzens Jesu gerettet. Allen Menschen gilt die am Chorbogen auf goldfarbenem Untergrund angebrachte Einladung Jesu: „Kommet zu mir alle, die ihr muehselig und beladen seid.“ (Mt 11,28) In der Apsis thront Christus mit ausgebreiteten, einladenden Armen auf einem Stuhl, dessen Stützen je zwei Löwen bilden. ➽ The apse and chancel paintings (PiP) of the Sacred Heart Church feature rich ornamentation and are rendered in the colors gold, violet, olive, and white, typical of Art Nouveau. The elaborate iconographic program was conceived as a cohesive whole by the patron, parish priest Anton Schwab: humanity, sinful and in need of redemption since Adam and Eve, was saved by the all-merciful love of the divine Heart of Jesus. Jesus' invitation, inscribed on a gold background above the chancel arch, is extended to all people: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened." (Matthew 11:28) In the apse, Christ is enthroned with outstretched, welcoming arms on a throne supported by two lions on each side. Above him hovers the Holy Spirit dove with outstretched wings.
