Loch an Nostarie

A panoramic view of this lonely loch. The weather looked like rain but it remained dry.

Loch an Nostarie is an irregular shaped shallow freshwater loch that lies about a mile north of the west-end of Loch Morar and about a mile south-east of Mallaig in the Lochaber district of Scotland. Its shore length is 6km.

A panoramic stitch of four photographs. Best enjoyed full screen.

Enjoy the day

An excellent capture from this remote and beautiful area Herb,
full screen really is worth a look.

Herb Riddle replied to Roger (Grisly):

Thanks Roger. I did wonder about the wisdom of putting this on here, on a Saturday!
Great that you enjoyed it, as I know it is your kind of country too. Edited for full screen viewing to the few that bother! Cheers.

Enjoy the last of the dry hot weather for a while. Herb

A well done panorama, the little pine covered island in the loch is so typical!

Herb Riddle replied to Gudrun:

Yes, I too like those small islands covered in pines.

Beautiful light, despite the weather, which suits this sort of landscape perfectly. The stitched pano is great (can't see the joins anywhere)!

The earthy colours in the landscape have a stark beauty of their own. A smashing shot Herb. Definitely worth viewing large..!!

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Yes this is how it was Keith. An overcast start to the day but suiting this landscape perfectly. Glad you liked it.

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

A lot of hiking to be done around here and much of it quite strenuous too. I am sure that you would have enjoyed it too. Cheers for the star.
