Flooded piera at Coniston.

A pier from where one would catch the ferry or cast-off your little rowboat almost completely underwater except for these post. All makes for an interesting capture though in these muted tones.

wet wet wet…. off to the Lakes for my birthday treat in a couple of weeks I wonder if it will be wet and windy or just a bit too hot for climbing far up the fells?

Herb Riddle replied to Colin Ashcroft:

Yes the Lakes are not known for their dryness Colin. It was extremely wet on our visit with many places flooded but we were lucky having had some sunny dry weather too. I hope you are blessed with good weather for your Fell climbs. Your birthday follows mine, set in just a couple of days. We are off to Scotland soon too and like you are hoping for a change in the weather up there.

I like the light in this shot Herb.........and the colours in the landscape. The old pier looks pretty impressive. I also like the reflections you've captured. The whole scene has a lovely tranquil ambience..!!

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

We then share a love for such soft harmonic light and colour my friend. We were only there for a few hours, enough for a cup of coffee and a quick explore along the banks near here and to the edge of the village itself. Glad you enjoyed it.
