Horsey Windmill: Chocolate box view

Another view of this Windpump masquerading as a Windmill.
Horsey Windpump is a historic drainage windmill located near the village of Horsey, in Norfolk, England. It is also known as Horsey Windmill in some sources. Unlike many windmills built for grinding grain, this structure was created to help drain the low-lying marshes and fen land in the Broads area. A windpump has stood on the site since at least the early 18th century, the current tower was built in 1912. A major restoration project began in 2016: the cap and sails were removed, rebuilt, and in 2019 the windpump reopened to visitors with the sails functioning again (for the first time since 1943).

Herb Riddle replied to Loose_Grip/Pete:

Oh yes, we only need to look at Jaap's (above) vast library of windmills and pumps to realise that. Something quite hypnotic about seeing one, especially when its in motion. Cheers for the call. Herb
