A Ravenstone barn

A walk to Ravenstone in the Howgills takes us past this old barn. Looking almost like a dwelling but a large side door was the only entrance with no real windows. The yellow arrowed markerpost shows our way on this side of the wall which I think is held together with mortar.

Enjoy the day

There's a very pleasing curve to that wall which nicely mirrors the slope on the hill behind.
HWW Herb. Have a great day.

Herb Riddle replied to Loose_Grip/Pete:

Thanks for this Pete. I did myself like the curve on here. As it was, I took a few shots but this was the best.

HWW, enjoy the rest of this wet week. Herb

I like the way the curve of the wall frames the house behind it.

Hi Herb
A very nice picture, which I like very much!
Wonderful and interesting composition with the curve of the wall aligning with the building behind.
I suspect the wall was originally built dry stone, but some repairs have been done with mortar to make good the damage caused by people climbing over it or nicking stones!!
Best Wishes, HWW, a nice week, and stay safe!!
