Vienna ~ St. Francis of Assisi Church

Shortly after arriving in Austria’s capital, Vienna, we head off from the busy Danube to the city centre. The first thing we see is this marvellous church. We did not have time to explore it but I managed to get a couple of snaps. See PiP

St. Francis of Assisi Church, also known as the Emperor's Jubilee Church and the Mexico Church, is a Basilica-style Catholic church. Built between 1898 and 1910, it was consecrated in 1913.

Enjoy the day.

It was nice to have this almost as our neighbour from our boat. I imagine it was a fair size inside too. Thanks for enjoying t with me.

Beautiful light, even under the grey skies...........and the church is really beautiful (and almost the size of a cathedral)! It dominates its surroundings.

A splendid shot Herb...........and a lovely PiP too, both beautifully sharp and detailed.

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Yes it was quite massive really Keith. A wonderful introduction to this most beautiful city of which we saw too little off. Glad you liked both shots.

Best Wishes. Herb
