This magical Island off the south eastern shores on the Isle of Anglesey has always been special. Almost hidden off the track by Newborough forest and its namesake Warren, it has three main structures; this shot shows the Tower, the others are the remains of the St Dwynwen church and the Lighthouse. A couple of impressive crosses complete the picture.
I am stood here behind a row of four stone houses built before 1830 for the lighthouse keepers, pilots and lifeboat men. It was closed in 1943 and the lighthouse went out in the 1970’s.
