Snowdrop fest

This week at Dunham Massey was snowdrop week. I think you can see why it is thus called from my photograph here. One very rarely sees such a bountiful collection of snowdrops. I have to give full credit to the gardeners of this incredible parkland and for once the sun shone even though it was only about 3C.

Enjoy the day.

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

Glad you liked this Gordon. A pity that your snowdrops are not out yet. We have two kinds of snowdrops in our gardens but only tiny clumps but they have all been out some time. This was a marvellous display at the Massy and the reason we went there in the first place as advised by a friend.
I took most with my Nikon and here is one of those if you care to look. A rare Flickr posting: www.flickr.com/photos/42716516@N08/54338243987/in/dateposted

Wow - what an amount of snowdrops. From some distance it looks like to be still in snow.

Enjoy your day!

It's coming! It's coming although it doesn't feel like spring yet. We've got some clumps of snowdrops and a few yellow crocus (which the squirrels like to eat) but the daffs & narcissus are pushing their green way up!

Herb Riddle replied to Loose_Grip/Pete:

Just some minutes back my car thermometer said it was 15C so it definitely feels like Spring accompanied by the heavy spring rains too. Glad you liked this. We have lots of green chutes and a few clumps of snowdrops to bring colour in the garden but our heather seems to be purple all through the winter too. Our squirrels like to eat our flowers too.

Wow! You're just showing off now Herb........it puts the few clumps I found yesterday in perspective for sure! Beautiful to see though, and very well taken!

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Sorry about this Keith. I just had to share this view but I did like you set too. I am pretty sure that I have never see such a large selection before as this. Great that you enjoyed them too.

Yes, spring is showing its face here and everywhere in fact as today we have also had our warmest day for many weeks at 14-15C.

Best Wishes. Herb
