Dürnstein's ruined castle and the Danube

After quite a steep hike up here from the riverside, I get a grand view from the highest point of the castle. This was the prison of our old King Richard (1st) the Lionheart in 1192. This taken with my phone in panoramic mode which I must say I find admirable. The large village sits at the foot of this hill, just above the river. The PiPs shows more views of the castle.

Essential full screen

Enjoy the day.

Great that you too have visited Dürnstein Güni. A most beautiful place and fascinating spot to explore. Good that you enjoyed the photo panorama I have made here. We stopped here for some hours on our Danube cruise.

Best Wishes, Herbert

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

This phone is paying for itself in nice photos on here. A great thing to have as a companion to a real camera to fill in those missing focal lengths. I am afraid one day they will almost replace DSLR's completely. When they can capture distant stars and and stella object I know that that time has nearly come. At the moment my phone can't compete with my Nikon but its getting closer. It can already easily overtake my camera for instant night shots.~ Glad you liked this.

A cracking panoramic shot Herb.............captured in superb detail. Sharp from front to back and the light is lovely.

I like both the PiPs as well..........and completely agree with David's views on the quality of the 'phone camera.

I've never even tried out my cameras panoramic function. I may have to give it a go.........when the weather improves!
