HWW ~ Yockenthwaite

A view from ‘Top farm’ in the tiny hamlet of Yockenthwaite in the Yorkshire Dales. This is still part of the ‘Dales Way’ and of course we are looking at the River Wharfe. This is actually our half way turning point on the walk that started further downstream at Hubberholme. Another big lens cap lost around here entailing a 30 minute fruitless search, ah well, the trials and tribulations of photography and hiking.

Enjoy the week.

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

I knew that you know this spot too as you posted a photo from near here just some little time ago I think. A great spot walked in good weather too. I lost the cap somewhere along the river, maybe even by the bridge maybe but I could not find the original Nikon cap. - Glad you liked the shot.

Can't count how many lens caps I lost, so I don't use any now, just UV filter...
HWW Herb.

Herb Riddle replied to Xata:

I think you could do without a cap if the camera was placed regularly into a camera bag etc but on such a -2-3 hour walk in fine weather I would walk with the camera in hand or around my shoulder. As we walk near and under many trees and bushes the raw lens would soon get scratched without a cap and then, good filters, easily scratched are also expensive.

In diesem Bild ist die Zeit stehen geblieben.
Objektivdeckel packe ich zu Beginn einer Fototour immer in die Tasche. Die Frontlinse ist durch die Sonnenblende gut geschützt.
