Loch Lochy splendour.

Between Fort William and Loch Ness there are two other Lochs: Loch Oich and Loch Lochy. This is the larger of the two, Loch Lochy with its most splendid reflections to the North West in this case. The two photo panorama was taken at the popular viewpoint stop at Letter Finlay.

"Loch Lochy is a large freshwater loch in Lochaber, Highland, Scotland. It is 15km (9 miles) long with an average width of 1km and a mean depth of 70 m (230ft), it is the third-deepest loch of Scotland." WiKi

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

Cheers Gordon. I was not sure if it was good enough for the CWP but its a new photo so I thought I would five it a go. (The thought of my Lake Louise shot felt like cheating! )

Cheers for the sentiment. Herb

Toll, Herb!

Herb Riddle replied to LotharW:

Thanks Lothar. This is not far from Ben Nevis at all. There were no mosquitoes on this visit for us (fortunately). Glad this brought back memories and that you enjoyed it.

Best Wishes. Herb

Herb Riddle replied to David G Johnson:

Glad you liked this David. I took a few from here in these conditions as you would expect. The lighting was a bit milky though.

I think it only stands out when it is reflective like this.

Ooh, I've been to Loch Oich, but never to this one, although we may have driven past without stopping.

This is just lovely Herb...............perfectly composed in gorgeous sunshine, with amazing reflections. I love the symmetry!

A definite 10/10.

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Thanks Keith. As said to Füsun above I think this grabs you more in these special conditions.

Wonderful that you have enjoyed these reflections and the symmetry. My entry for this month CWP theme which I picked and so thought I should have something decent! Your score gives me hope.

Cheers. Herb
