A Derbyshire barn

A few days in the Peak District of Derbyshire allows me to spy some new landscapes. This taken just at the edge of the village of Castleton.

Enjoy full screen.

~ Just realised that this would have made a nice entry into the HWW group (˚◡˚)

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

Not entirely new as I used to visit that part of Derbyshire a great deal both as day outs for here or staying in that part of the Peak district in the caravan. This was only the second time in our own rented cottage.

Glad you liked this one and as you say very similar to our Dale collection too.

Enjoy the weekend. Herb

Sehr schöne Landschaft, Herb.
Erinnert mich an die Patchwork Felder in Irland

Vielleicht passt auch dazu:

Irlands Meister-Barde Christy Moore hat das Lied seines Freundes John Spillane ins Repertoire aufgenommen. Christy singt Gortatagort weich, gefühlvoll, träumerisch, wundervoll intensiv.

I sing The Field I sing The Farm
I sing The House my Mother was born
In Gortatagort Colomane
A green jewel

Sewn in a patchwork quilt of fields
Between the mountain and the River
In this time now and in another
Where I ran free with my brothers
Through the Longmeadow The Cnocan Rua
The Fortfield The Pairc na Claise
The Newhouse Field The Guillane Field
The Clover Field The Rushy Field

Where the Red Fuschia weeps in The Hen’s Garden
And the angels bleed over Bantry Bay

I see The House I see The Yard
I see The Stall I see The Stable
I see The Haggart and The Sandy Field
I see The Hill I see The Well
I sing The Spring of Well Water
I sing The Field of Standing Stones
The South Rey Grass The North Rey Grass
The Break and The Paircin na hEornan

Where the Red Fuschia weeps in The Hen’s Garden
Where God foes to sleep in the hills and the valleys
Where the Moon rises over The Haggart
Where peace descends on Gortatagort
Where the angels bleed over Bantry Bay

Saddle up the old grey mare,
Tim Big Danny and Jacky Timmyich
Are going across The Mountain
To Puck Fair

I sing The Field I sing The Farm
I sing The House my Mother was born
In Gortatagort Colomane
A Green Jewel
Gortatagort

Herb Riddle replied to sea-herdorf:

Erich, you overwhelm me with this long poem/song. I have visited not very far from that place in Ireland and so can see what he saw. Thanks for this.

Best Wishes. Herb

A nice linear composition Herb, with lovely lines from the dry-stone walls. The small building is nicely placed in the frame and I like the different green tones in the landscape. Very well captured!

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Always good to read your views Keith. A frame and composition I have used a few times but always enjoyable. It would have been nice with a stronger light but we cannot have everything, Glad you like it.

Cheers. Herb

Ces nuances de vert et ces lignes rendent la photo très graphique. La petite maison est à sa place ! Belle composition.
