Derwent Water magic

Another view from the top of Latrigg looking over Derwent Water to the south. We can just make out Castle Cragg with the pointed tree lined peak. The mountains in the background, I must admit look very grand here photographed with a long telephoto lens and displayed in this retro sepia.

PiPs

Enjoy full screen.

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

I thought that you would like this Gordon. I took this at the same time as the wide view of the lake from Latrigg in the second PiP. As this was taken with my Olympus 120mm 4/3rds this is equivalent to a 240mm lens on a full frame 35mm. Cheers for the star.

Another superb shot from this stunningly beautiful area Herb..............I really like this closer view and the detail you've captured.............right down to the people in the shot as well (as Anton has pointed out).

The sepia treatment was a good idea and works very well. Very well done sir!

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

I hold down a snigger as I read your comment at this moment Keith. I had intended to post the original here in its full soft glory but this sepia rendition gave it more punch as you have noticed, to my relief. Yes this gives stark contrast to its brother the full lake in the second pip. It also gives an alternative to the first pip of Castle Cragg. Great that you have enjoyed it and I very much appreciate your comment here.

Best Wishes. Herb
