Derwent Water, Queen of the Lakes

Another vintage shot, this time from 2011. Demonstrating again that time is no impediment to landscapes and light.

Looking South from the Lakeland fell of Latrigg, over the Cumbrian town of Keswick onto Derwent Water. The first Island just right of centre is Derwent Island. To its left seemingly touching the shore is Lord’s Island with Rampsholm Island on its top left corner and almost centre stage of the lake is St Herbert’s Island (naturally :) Latrigg is 368m asl.

A fabulous panoramic shot Herb.............the view is awesome and the detail you've captured is outstanding..........especially when viewed large!

A lovely blue sky with beautiful light too.........especially where it's reflected on the lake. Love it..!!

I never used one of the Olympus E series cameras, but the picture quality here is excellent. Not bad for a camera that came out around 2007 :-))

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Always good when you enjoy my landscapes Keith. Derwent water was always a great favourite place to visit but the last couple of times we went there we could hardly move for tourist :)

That Olympus E-410 and its lens's were always good and at far less size, weight, and price than my current Nikon I have more than once wondered if I switched right.
