My forebears

It shows the Bojić family cooperative, which consisted of several generations, one or more families, with the oldest member at the head (in this case "Prince Petar Bojić"), whose opinion was respected by all. All members of the cooperative, and there were about 50 of them (with some absent in the pictures due to regular work: herding cattle, agricultural and other work), lived together and cultivated the common land, which no one could independently inherit. The cooperative consisted of several houses, one main one and several surrounding houses in which younger married couples lived. Since the cooperative was based on the patrilineal system, a girl who got married left her father's cooperative and moved to her husband's cooperative. In the picture are my grandfather Simo and my grandmother Vida with my father Nedeljko in their arms.евојка која би се удала, напуштала је очеву задругу и прелазила у задругу свога мужа.

In the picture are my grandfather Simo and my grandmother Vida with my father Nedeljko in their arms.

The photograph was taken in 1928. by sr.wikipedia.org/sr-ec/Milan_Karanović.
