LDN1608 and Dust.

LDN1608 is the small nebula on the left hand side of the shot I was taken by the dust lanes. Having walked a lot of NZ with my father he always had topographical maps of where we where walking. I was struck by the similarity of the rest of the image on the right side how much it looked like one of those maps. It was not unknown for my father to hand the map and compass to my bother and myself "we are lost" get us out of here. I am so glad I did not have this in WA almost flat face less land.

Another shot of the area but much closer up as the shot is made with a 1" sensor QHY183M verses a QHY268M ASPC both mono and same filters and same scope.. I took Oiii 41 shots as there was only one very small amount of blue nebula in the shot. Ha 79 shots and 126 shots Sii as this area is mostly these two elements . Sadly the palm tree is getting in the shot earlier and as I have been able to reach 20hours combined shot time I will move to a palm tree free target...

Steve Paxton replied to Diana Australis:

There is really nothing ordinary out in space no matter where I turn I am blown away. Thank you glad you like these, most who are on ipernity have no clue just what it is they are looking at.

Steve Paxton replied to Ko Hummel:

Thank you Ko I did set out to produce high Quality shot of space as I knew it was worth the effort learning and seeing others results. I knew this was the right path but it did entail a lot of learning. I have used my time to teach others as well passing on what I have learnt. Glad you like the shots.

Steve Paxton replied to Erika+Manfred:

This is certainly other worldly alright but this is close to us on the same arm of the milky way we (the earth) are on. Happy to share the shots as it just may inspire others to give it a real good go, If I can any one can. Thanks you there will be others as time goes on.

Thank you it certainly is and not some thing you get to see many other places. Glad you liked the shot with a look back at them all if you have the time.

Steve Paxton replied to TOZ:

The idea that space is an easy target you can see is very quickly dispelled. There is nothing easy or quick about getting a good quality image of space that is a 5 min job. There is always an investment of time, understanding, commitment and editing that goes with each and every image. Thrown in the odd glitch and you have every thing you can expect. I set out to produce images of space that are of very good quality much like my own photography not content with phone shots. many thanks you are most welcome and hole you keep enjoying the shots of space which I will keep doing for as long as I can...
