Statue Of Liberty Starless NGC 3576- Do look large.

The science teacher at school found out that I took photos of not only the Milky Way but also deep space. Can you give a talk to the students one of the terms. Of course my answer was yes.

In the process of putting together the shots I looked at them all and decided the 2021- 23 editing was just not up to standard Its been a task to re-edit all 65 shots to what I know now.

I n the process I get to see things that no one else sees once I remove the stars to edit the Nebulas the detail is staggering . Even though I diminish the stars a bit you never get to see this much finer detail as you do in this shot.

I decided to show the two stars and starless then though it was only fair to also share with those interested on ipernity.

Great work indeed, Steve. Taking out the stars certainly makes a difference.

Steve Paxton replied to tiabunna:

I see this all the time but never thought to put up the difference , you can see why I reduce the stars by quite a bit. Even though the star reduction happens they do tend to mask out a lot of the detail. I remove the stars to work on the back ground independently to the stars then add them back. It is time consuming but worth the time to do it in my opinion you get a much better background with far more detail. Glad you like this may be worth putting up the two starless and stars.

You have a real point there Steve -seeing more of the Nebula when the stars are largely omitted. I bet the kids liked your deep space shots. Pity that they would have not seen them via your OLED TV as I know from my own OLED TV, these scenes look stunning, especially when the house lights are down. ~ Of course another fine set for us here. Well done.

Steve Paxton replied to Herb Riddle:

I see it so often but most others after adding the stars back it gets lost. The school has a 75 cm screen that will blow the kids away no matter what BUT yes an OLED screen is way better. I think we both share the same passion for our craft. Me I set out to take the shots I had always wanted but to show them as quality images we would be happy to put our names to. Me I am enjoying it but not the clouds.
