Kalgoorlie

This is a over view of the city of Kalgoorlie , taken from the high point that is the Museum. The city has a very rich selection of very old buildings that all dale from 1895. I may put a few as PIP's only for those who are interested.

For those interested this was a very hard panorama to put together as it was taken right next to the Main frames of the Mine pulley frame. half to the left half to the right of the frame which changed the view point and hence angle of view. I chose to have the foreground out and keep the horizon straight. enjoy the over view.

A great high view Steve that makes me wonder what king of angle this encapsulates. Gold country, -hot, dusty and rich if you are lucky. At least they don't seem to have a mountain of waste sludge to be afraid any land-slides here.

Keep safe, Herb

Steve Paxton replied to Herb Riddle:

In this shot there is just over 180 degrees worth of view which is a lot as it is not done on a tripod but free hand. the mountain of waste is around the mine as a high wall of rubble you can see on the left side of the shot that also hides the mine.

Steve Paxton replied to tiabunna:

thank you was done free hand and the frame changed the view point hence the misalignment in the middle foreground but the horizon is straight.

Great panorama !
When we were in Australia I bought opal necklaces for my daughter and myself. It is a wonderful memory of the time we spent there.
Wish you a fine weekend, it's a bit boring here, we have a strict lockdown
