Lost deep in the Forrest- Best viewed large on black.

A shot from my head, years of reading Terry Brooks for years and painting in my head the words from the pages (Elf Lost in the Back Forest). I got the chance with Jess to try and bring out my ideas but it meant going into the trees spiders, bugs and real dark.

not a shot you are likely to see ever again straight from my imagination ............ enjoy a concept and a purely manual shot . Well worth the view large on black you get to see the shot I had in mind.

An enchanted forest? Well composed and shot, Steve. Yes bigger and blacker is definitely good.

Steve that is the reaction the photo is suppose to give you and feeling the difficulty of the situation, how it was in the books more than once. the difference between the shot on white and black is like chalk and cheese. my fav of the night. keep safe under these difficult time and we will get over this lot.

I love this image Steve, - it is eerie and atmospheric with just the right amount of light to give a magical effect. A 'must see' full screen. A stunning shot. Keep safe.

Steve Paxton replied to Ecobird:

Thank you, you got what I was aiming for 100% most certainly not an image a camera will take on Auto you have to do this manually and then some. you keep safe you will get out the other end of the pandemic.

This must be seen full screen on black and then gets better the longer you stare at it. A bit spooky maybe, but full of character. I keep expecting something to jump out from behind those trees at any moment re Tolkein. Great job.

Herb I am honored by you comment and all the ones above my thoughts came out to the shot I was after. Yes LOR or Shannara either one fit this shot well and glad I had Jess with me to give it a try.

Sure hope it does inspire others to give thing a try. Many thanks but cant go out very sore foot. You keep safe.

This works very well, Steve. You were fortunate to have Jess as an assistant. I hope your weekend is going well.

Steve Paxton replied to tiabunna:

the idea was simple enough but the capture was not quite as easy mostly it was always ending up well exposed did not have that dark scary look I was after. So had to revert to real manual to get the shot. was a huge plus to have Jess and she is keen to go out again.

we are about to get rain so its good as there is a moon as well. you stay safe in this time of troubles.
