Difficult to imagine our big roads used like this Steve. We often shut of parts of a road for bicycle races though. Seemed to have paid of according to our Olympic bicycle result this week :) We have a world-class velodrome in Manchester too. Nice One!

This is closed Road for a race up the freeway otherwise there is a parth on the left to ride the length of the freeway. That happens at least twice a year they close out one side of the freeway and always the Southern side. Certainly save a whole lot of petrol.

This should be a permanent state of affairs, Steve. The cyclists are keeping fit, and not in anyone's way, and the volume of traffic on the freeway and railroad is negligible. Also it ensures that cars and cyclists do not get in each other's way.
