Is it smoke or morning fog?

Steve Paxton replied to Daniela Brocca:

Daniela sadly we are in the season for controlled burning off before summer starts in earnest.

Panoramio is gone so the links are useless.

yesterday was very bad my dark car turned whiteish from all the ash all the washing had to be re done to get rid of the smell of smoke. this only happens this time of year if its in summer is a real bad fire which we /you have seen on the news. this is all part of life here in WA.

I see. We have sometime also fire, but not like yours. Yes, I often have seen it in the news, even if I don't understand why there are so big fires. Cheers,Daniela

Steve Paxton replied to Daniela Brocca:

Daniela the theory is at this time of year its not so hot things dont get out of control so fast, little less windy and all the build up of undergrowth has happened so it will cut down the major fuel load. its a case of trying to get ahead of the summer fires by starving them of fuel. it some times works depends how hot the fires get to even burn the big trees there is a lot of bush out there that is impossible to get to. Australia is a very big place and all of it is tinder dry. Steve

A lovely rolling landscape. Yes, much as the smoke is a nuisance it's better to have controlled burns in benign weather than raging infernos in mid summer. HFF.

Steve Paxton replied to tiabunna:

Not our local scenery but the smoke sure is . I have learned to think just the same better fires in winter than summer HFF

A familiar rolling green landscape, typical of our very own, not a thing I see very much from Australia Steve. Although, the smoke sadly is. Thanks for sharing.

HFF, have a great weekend, Herb

A wonderfukl landscape! Controlled burning now is probably preferable to uncontrolled burning in the summer, as long as it's controlled... HFF, Steve!

Steve Paxton replied to Gudrun:

You are 100% correct way better winter smoke than out of control summer buts some thing we have to get use to. HFF from down under.
