I used to do this every year in England. No chance here, it's my brother-in-law's fruit and he gets to say what he does with it! (Mainly gives them away to his cronies in the bar!)
Yes. I was more than happy to be rescued by my sister 18 months ago when covid took all my work away!
I could bo longer afford the rent to my very nice central Madrid flat, my girlfriend has to let her spare rooms out to tenants (all girls and no boy friends can stay so that ruled me out as well!) and then in quick succession I got a series of serious illnesses which meant I was in hospital for 5 months (a tricky combination of leukaemia, a back ruined by years of cortisone treatment, serious eye problems, diabetes, kidney failure and 2 months in an induced coma due to covid. I wasn't expected to survive but I did and then needed the support of my sister, my girlfriend and my physiotherapist to learn how to walk again, how to swallow, how to talk again - all these were badly affected by covid. Needless to say I am no longer teaching and I am very fortunate that my sister was able to buy this large house a few years ago where there is space for me to recuperate! Lucky me!
(Oh, and don't worry, we do get to eat the stuff as well!)
