Thank you very much, Christa. Actually, it kept its wings spread for a long time. The wings of these birds aren't waterproof like some birds, so they must dry out for a long time after each dive.
Thank you for your comment, Gillian. It was (and usually is) a very quiet place. The main exception is during egret nesting season in spring and early summer.
A superb capture Ronald. Not a bird we see here so it is lovely to see him with his wings spread to dry off. Attractive surroundings and great reflections and the light on the water is quite magical.
