I doubt he is angry. He had been sitting in a different tree a few minutes before (in a previous photo) and flew to this dead tree. Their call sounds a little angry, but I don't think they really are. Thanks for the visit and comment, Jocelyne.

Thanks a lot, Janet. I am lucky to have this guy living nearby, but I deny having great timing. It sat in the other tree for 10 or 15 minutes while I took a bunch of photos, then flew to this dead pine tree and posed for quite a while longer.
