Where did you see these? I had a chance once to see manatees in Florida when we visited Richard's daughter.

These were at Three Sisters' Springs which is near Crystal River, FL. There is a boardwalk around the shore from which you can view the manatees. We were told by the bus driver that the shore was narrowly save from condominium development a few years ago.

Aww, these are so cute! I didn't realize they were found in such shallow water. Good shadows on blue water.

They spend their winters in these shallow pools, sleeping all day. Habitat destruction along the shore has been a big problem for them in Florida.
