Ruth

SC184 - Post 15 February - Portrait

This is Ruth who runs our village cafe, Café XI. She was very happy to allow me to take her photo. I particularly like the reflections of the cafe windows in her spectacles, and the distortion, through the glass, of bottles on the shelf behind her. It's always a pleasure for people to meet here to exchange gossip, bemoan the news or the weather, and keep up to date with village affairs.

The PIP is of John, who was outside the cafe, selling beautiful arrangements of Valentine's flowers that his wife makes. He is Ruyton born and bred, and works in a nearby local vineyard.

A lovely portrait, Amelai. I love the demure smile. I love also the colour match between the clothing and the earrings. Have a great Sunday evening! All the best, Joe
