Prunus × subhirtella 'Autumnalis' rosea

Not a showy cherry, but a delight in the autumn/winter garden. There are 2 of these cherry trees in Ruyton XI Towns churchyard.

Such gorgeous looking blossom..........I like the detail you've captured and the subtle colours. Your depth of field is lovely!

Is it normal for these trees to blossom at this time of year?

Amelia replied to Keith Burton:

Yes Keith. It is an autumn/winter cherry, and the flowers are not very showy. I used to grow it in my last garden, and it did well in Shropshire. The flowers suffered in the snowy weather we had in November, but it had since recovered. It doesn't do so well in our churchyard as the trees don't get enough sun.

Beautiful delicate blossoms, Amelia. I love the very effective shallow depth of field. I hope you have a great weekend. All the best, Joe
