The quiet gardener

SC68 – Post October 22 - Tools

None of my garden tools is electrically or petrol powered. Here one can see a long handled pruning saw, an extendable lopper, a hoe, a lawn edger (which was my father's), a lawn rake, a garden fork, flat lawn trimmers, lady's hedge cutters, lawn edging shears, a garden spade and the pair of handles belong to push mower. I might have to invest in a battery operated lawn mower next year as I'm getting a bit long in the tooth and the push mower is heavy.

My neighbouring gardeners are sometimes so noisy that they don't know that I am gardening so quietly. ;-)

That's an impressive collection of gardening implements Amelia.............and very nicely captured.

Our only noisy thing is an electric lawnmower as we have a large garden to mow (well, my wife does anyway.........she finds it therapeutic)! I just get called in for stuff that requires brute force and ignorance :-))

Quite impressive, though robot electrical mowers are noiseless by the way

Amelia replied to PhLB - Luc Boonen:

I have a very curvy lawn and the expensive robot would find it difficult to navigate. ;-))

Could you come and tidy my tools Amelia I have some tools of my Grandads, a battery mower does have advantages over a hand mower especially if the grass is wet, a shredder is noisy but very handy for things with woody stalks and it makes a balanced compost and you don't use it that often

Push mowers are such hard work. Fine collection of gardening tools, and I like the colours of the bricks behind them.

Amelia replied to Gillian Everett:

This brick built garden shed used to be the outside privy, and has had many coats of paint in the past. I could scrape it all down to the hare bricks, but I like the history. BTW - we have always had an inside bathroom since we lived here. :-)))
