Oooh, this image brings back some memories, we spent the first two and half years of our married life in Malta and I used to patrol the streets with the police as a member of the Naval Patrol. We lived in married quarters in Sliema.

Anyway..........I really like your perspective and composition here. The black railings make a perfect leading line and I love all the detail in the steps and other stonework. A super shot Amelia.

Amelia replied to Keith Burton:

Hi Keith I have difficulty mapping this as I can't remember where It was. We spent a week thereat the end of September and beginning if october. It was far too hot for me (being a Celt with freckles) , but Adrian loved it. We were on the Sleima side and enjoyed the daily ferry crossing.
If you know where this is, is it possible for YOU to map it accurately.

Keith Burton replied to Amelia:

I can't help you there Amelia.........there are a lot of similar looking streets and steps like this in Valetta and I was there in 1972-1974 and my memory isn't THAT good. Sorry :-(

I could hazard a guess it was somewhere off Kingsway, which was the Main Street through Valletta, (although I now believe it is called Republic Street).

It could be North Street.

I love the upwards perspective, Amelia. The handrail acts as an excellent lead-in line, that draws the eye into the scene. Best wishes, Joe

Your shot brings back memories as I have spent a few Christmases here, but unfortunately have no recollection of these steps although I must have trodden them. So love the shot and pleased that you have enjoyed Malta, HFF & Hanwe ~~~

I've probably walked up these steps Amelia, having been to Malta many times. Many happy memories from there. It had changed so much from the first time I visited to the last.
Have a good weekend.
