HBM from Penrhyn Castle

In the distance on the left is the Isle of Anglesey, and just to the right of that is the small uninhabited Puffin Island. To the right of centre is the headland of the Great Orme, and to the far right is part of Snowdonia.

A delightful view here Amelia. Although I have driven along the A55 below here many times, I have neve actually visited this castle. I will have to correct that at some time.

HBM, enjoy the day. Herb

A bench with a beautiful view Amelia. Viewing on full screen opens up the vista before you and gives a wider view of the places you have highlighted, and all the detail of the animals and tracks in the field. A super shot

HBM and have a lovely new week

And are there puffins in the island? HBM Amelia

Amelia replied to Xata:

Unfortunately puffins were once common on the island, although they are today quite scarce; but.the dominant species include razorbills, shag, guillemots, kittiwakes, fulmars, herring gulls, lesser black-backed gulls, and great black-backed gulls. The area is of European importance for its breeding population of cormorant, and is also an important roosting area for oystercatchers. We have not sailed around the island, because we've seen all of these birds + puffins on the East coast of England.

I recall having a climbing ambition to climb the famous 'Dream of White Horses' on Great Orme - a much too difficult climb for me really and an ambition never realised. Still, it's what connects me to this pleasing shot, if only in the faintest possible way!

A wonderful view across that verdant landscape to the sea and beyond.............which is even better viewed large. The lady on the bench provides some nice foreground interest.

Have an enjoyable week Amelia.
