The Holly and the Ivy + Mistletoe in the PiP

Pagan symbolism of believing that evergreens in winter kept away evil spirits merged with Christian celebrations over the years and the use of holly, mistletoe and ivy in evergreen boughs is long standing in the UK.

Unfortunately all the holly berries were taken by the birds during the cold spell we had two weeks ago.

Beautiful, and I love that song. Went to a caroling service yesterday at an Episcopalian Church, because my (Jewish) husband thought we needed a little Christmas spirit ... :-)
