Thank you, Gudrun. I think it is easy to miss it, as much of the illusion disappears when these lock gates are opened. I was surprised that no-one else in our party of four took a second look. I was fascinated by the whole thing. I hope the paintwork is well maintained otherwise this work of art will disappear.

I do use photoshop for some times, Volker, but usually only to straighten things up. This one didn't even get that treatment! I'm not one for too much enhancement in fact..

No no, I really didn't think that there was something done on the original photo. When looking close to the yellow lines its clear that they real paintings. This was my way to express, that the makers of this elipses did a perfect job. And you caught it perfectly in this picture.
