OUTDATED. SEE CURRENT POSTING.
Barley
Barley is a handsome buff boy who clearly enjoys his treats. While he weighed 15 pounds when he arrived, Barley is now down to 13 pounds. We guesstimate his age to be about seven years old. Barley is a bit shy around strangers. In fact, he runs and hides. But, with treats in hand, it is possible to lure Barley out for some much-enjoyed loving. Barley tested negative for FIV/FeLV. He is neutered. He has been vaccinated against rabies and distemper. Barley's kidneys feel a bit small on examination, but his labs are completely normal. We put the boy through a dental cleaning (and extraction of one tooth), so he has sparkly white teeth to start his new life. Barley can peacefully coexist with other cats and dogs, but he isn't buddies with any of them (not even his presumed brother). Barley is available for adoption for $40.
Miss Farkus
Miss Farkus was trapped as an older kitten along with her sisters. As they were all completely wild, they have been undergoing socialization. Miss Farkus loves human touch, and she is very food motivated. The beauty enjoys being carried around in her human's arms, purring up a storm. However, she is quite nervous around strangers. We are working to help her overcome her fears. Miss Farkus has been spayed and vaccinated against rabies, distemper, and feline leukemia. She is negative for FIV/FeLV. Her guesstimated birth date is 9/2/14. She is available for adoption for $60.
Jenx (ADOPTED)
Jenx is a gorgeous, easy-going young lady who enjoys cuddling all night long. Her age is guesstimated to be between 10 and 18 months. Jenx has been spayed and vaccinated against both rabies and distemper. She is negative for FIV/FeLV. Jenx has been dewormed. She uses the litterbox faithfully. Jenx is available for adoption for $60.
Mr. Grigsby: SPECIAL NEEDS
Mr. Grigsby is a gregarious, outgoing feline. People who visit to choose a home often fall in love with his handsome looks, outgoing personality, and soft fur. However, he will need a special home. After all, Mr. Grigsby is allergic to standard cat food. He can have limited ingredient duck and pea without difficulty or, what we feed him, ground up chicken from Woody's Pet Food Deli. Of note, it isn't as simple as that. Why not? Mr. Grigsby is food obsessed. He will go after any food in the sink and even has figured out ways to open cabinets (now all have magnets holding them closed). This boy will tear into bags of anything left on the counter. We do our best to keep Mr. Grigsby away from anything that will cause him to react, but he manages to get into something every six to eight months or so. When it happens, he needs to have a steroid. His face swells and his paws swell. His lips ulcerate. If Mr. Grigsby doesn't get a steroid in time, his paw pads crack and his paws become secondarily infected thanks to the litterbox. Yep, it's best to catch it early. Mr. Grigsby requires a home that can medically care for an allergic reaction. An organized kitchen is a must, one where nothing is left out for him to devour. With all that said, Mr. Grigsby is definitely worth all the extra effort. He's been vaccinated against rabies, distemper, and feline leukemia. Adoption fee: $50.
MoMo: SPECIAL NEEDS
MoMo is our only declawed feline in the house. He arrived that way. MoMo, now approximately 8 years old, was found dodging cars scrounging for food in a grocery store parking lot. MoMo is a very quirky boy although his OCD tendencies are mellowing with age. MoMo does not want to live with other adult males (he will spray). He also at times prefers to use wee-wee pads over litterboxes. That has lessened considerably with time, but MoMo still falls into a special needs category due to his unusual litter habits. MoMo lives in his own room in our home (apart from other adult males). Thankfully, he enjoys female company as well as kittens. His room is our "kitten room" whenever we have kittens available for adoption in our home. MoMo is neutered, dewormed, and has been vaccinated against rabies, distemper, and FeLV. Adoption fee: $50.
Chiffon
Chiffon is a sweet girl, perhaps 2-3 years old, who is happy to be off the streets. Chiffon loves to cuddle, but she still is a bit hand shy when she sees a hand reach toward her. Chiffon has been vaccinated against rabies and distemper. She tested negative for FIV/FeLV. She has been dewormed and uses the litterbox faithfully. She is spayed. Chiffon is available for adoption for $50.
Ellie
Ellie had a litter of kittens on a property, and by the time we became involved only one kitten remained (his guesstimated birth date is 11/7/14 based on what the homeowner knew). The pair joined us on 1/16/15. Ellie, albeit shy, has been around humans in the past. She was spayed on 2/11/15 as well as vaccinated against rabies and distemper. Ellie tested negative for FIV/FeLV. She is still being treated for a stubborn ear infection. Ellie is available for adoption for $50, but please be aware that we are still treating her left ear. She has been spayed and vaccinated against rabies and distemper.
Miss Flick (soon available for adoption)
Miss Flick, like her sisters, was trapped as a feral kitten. She has been undergoing socialization. Thankfully, Miss Flick is more comfortable around strangers, willing to take treats offered to her by unknown hands. However, we are still working on getting her comfortable being picked up. While she can be picked up and has had her claws trimmed without incident, she really isn't overly fond of having her four paws off the ground. Miss Flick has been spayed and vaccinated against rabies. She tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Her guesstimated birth date is 9/2/14. She will be available for adoption for $60.
Kanata (soon available for adoption)
This wee girl, trapped with her momma and two siblings, has a great deal of confidence. She has been dewormed and is adapting well to life indoors. She will be available for adoption starting 6/8/15 for a fully refundable (with verifiable proof of spay by age 7 months) $50.
Phasma (soon available for adoption)
Phasma is a gorgeous wee girl who was trapped along with her momma and two siblings. Phasma is a bit more shy, but she is finding that she enjoys being pet. Phasma has been dewormed and continues to adjust to interacting with humans. Phasma will be available for adoption starting 6/8/15 for a fully refundable (with verifiable proof of spay by age 7 months) $50.
Dameron (soon available for adoption)
Dameron is an incredibly handsome and photogenic young man who was trapped with his momma and two sisters. Dameron is adapting to indoor living and, like his sisters, is just the right age to make a fabulous transition. Dameron has been dewormed and uses the litterbox faithfully. He will be available for adoption starting 6/8/15 for a fully refundable (with verifiable proof of neuter by age 7 months) $50.
Arizona (soon available for adoption)
Arizona is the amazingly friendly, outgoing, loving momma trapped with her three kittens (Kanata, Phasma, and Dameron). She has been spayed and vaccinated against rabies and distemper. This loving, trusting feline will be available for adoption once her kittens reach 8 weeks of age. Adoption fee: $50.
Whisper (soon available for adoption) & Murmur (one day available for adoption)
Whisper is a precious young tabby and white male born in October. He has been neutered and vaccinated against rabies. This beautiful boy LOVES to be pet. He was quite thin when he arrived and has been happily eating up a storm. Whisper has been dewormed and uses a litterbox faithfully. Whisper will be available for adoption for $50.
Murmur is a tiny young tabby, approximately 14 ½ months old. While he arrived into our care when trapped once an adult, he has been finding out about the pleasures of indoor living. Murmur has been neutered and vaccinated against rabies. This boy is full-grown at 5 pounds. He uses the litterbox faithfully and has been dewormed. Murmur will be available for $50.
Devonshire (one day available for adoption)
Devonshire was trapped as a very pregnant feline and soon gave birth to four gorgeous kittens. Devonshire also took into her care an additional litter of kittens rejected by their momma at birth. This lovely, outgoing, affectionate feline will be available for adoption mid-July after her kittens have been weaned completely and she has been spayed. She will be available for adoption for $50.
The kittens Devonshire has been raising:
Lotus
Higgins
Bromley
Mellow Monk
The first four will be available starting 7/5/15 and the last five starting 7/9/15 (once they turn eight weeks of age).
