FELINES AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

Zuri
Zuri is a beautiful, approximately 7-month-old spayed female who has a soft coat and loving temperament. Zuri wandered into our neighbors' garage. We searched for her owners for a couple of weeks before opting to check her for FIV/FeLV. She is thankfully negative. Zuri has received a rabies vaccine and her first feline distemper vaccine, and the vet found a spay scar on her belly. Zuri does well with our dogs, but she can entertain herself by chasing the other felines in the home (although she isn't truly aggressive). Her favorite place to be? Cuddled in the arms of any human who walks through our door. Nothing shy about this girl!


Zamboni
Zamboni was born 9/22/09 to an adolescent pregnant stray (Vidalia). He was adopted but returned to our home after he no longer fit in their litterbox. Since arriving back in our care, Zamboni has lost nearly five pounds through portion control alone. In spite of his weight loss, Zamboni still remains a LARGE cat and requires JUMBO litterboxes in his home (we had to go out and purchase Zamboni-sized litterboxes). He is neutered and up-to-date on his rabies vaccination. Zamboni gets along with both cats and dogs and enjoys sleeping with his human all night long. Zamboni needs a family that recognizes the importance of continued portion control to keep Zamboni's weight down.


Heidi
Heidi was trapped as a pregnant feral feline. After her kittens found homes, we released outdoors at the foster farm. An injury brought her to the doorstep, and Heidi found herself readily adapting to indoor living. . .

Curiosity
In this case Curiosity didn't kill the cat. Curiosity IS the cat. Curio was dumped in the country as a youngster. By the time he showed up at a friendly farm, he had a nasty nasal discharge. When I took Curio into our home, I hoped that we could treat his infection and readily find him a new home. After all, he is an incredibly personable, outgoing feline. However, the underlying sinus infection never completely cleared. Weeks of antibiotics would treat any secondary infection, but his chronic drippy nose continued. We used twice-daily lysine and twice-daily steambaths to keep Curio's symptoms under control. Finally, Curio doesn't need steambaths. Yay! We haven't tried him off lysine yet, so we recommend that Curio continue taking lysine twice daily. Curio LOVES people, LOVES dogs, and enjoys cuddling with friendly felines.


Mr. Grigsby
Mr. Grigsby is another gregarious, outgoing fellow. People who visit to choose a home often fall in love with his handsome looks, outgoing personality, and soft fur. However, he will need a special home. After all, Mr. Grigsby is allergic to standard cat food. He can have limited ingredient duck and pea without difficulty or, what we feed him, ground up chicken from a pet food deli. Of note, it isn't as simple as that. Why not? Mr. Grigsby is food obsessed. He will go after any food in the sink and even has figured out ways to open cabinets (now all have magnets holding them closed). This boy will tear into bags of anything left on the counter. We do our best to keep Mr. Grigsby away from anything that will cause him to react, but he manages to get into something every three to five months or so. When it happens, he needs to have a steroid. His face swells and his paws swell. His lips ulcerate. If Mr. Grigsby doesn't get a steroid in time, his paw pads crack and his paws become secondarily infected from walking in the litterbox. Yep, it's best to catch it early. Mr. Grigsby would require a home that had ready access to medical care for him. An organized kitchen would be a must, one where nothing is left out for him to devour. With all that said, Mr. Grigsby is worth all the extra effort.


FELINES SOON AVAILABLE

Bosley
Bosley is a handsome young man who will be neutered, vaccinated, and tested for FIV/FeLV on 11/11/13. After that, Bosley will be made available for adoption. This all-buff beauty had been spotted in the woods near a home for a few weeks. When the couple went out to tell him to skedaddle, he came running over for loving rather than shooing away. Thankfully, they took him into their home until they could contact me to rescue the boy. Bosley loves both food and attention, often running from back and forth between the two. He will make a marvelous addition to a home.


Welby & Fargo
This young pair is approximately two months old (or nearly that). They were rescued from hanging out in the bushes near a local bank. Fargo is a big, out-going, all-black boy with a loving personality and an extra six toes (two extra on each front paw, one extra on each back paw). He is a fabulous mix of playful, active, cuddly, loving, outgoing kittenness. His sister, when rescued, had both a fractured paw and damage to the nerve of her left front leg. Thankfully, the nerve has been recovering nicely from the injury. She is still wearing a splint at this point as well as a cone. Welby ADORES her brother. We are seeking to find them a forever home together. Fargo will be neutered on 11/11/13, but his sister is significantly smaller in size and will have to wait to be spayed.


Gideon & Levi
These two boys, approximately three months old, were trapped by the dumpsters at a local gas station. They are both incredibly confident and have been quick to observe life in our household. I am still working on socializing the young pair and will make them available for adoption once they are ready for homes. They will be neutered on 11/11/13.
