Dear members and friends of ipernity,
1) In June there was a temporary downtime of the satellite view in the map functionality. It was caused by an update on the side of Google, which we had to adjust to. In the meantime, the satellite view is back as usual.
2) The DeepL translator now provides an option of formal or informal translations. This is not an issue when translating from other languages to English, which only has »You«. But from English into German or French it differs. If you visit the free website version of the DeepL translator, you will find this new option above the right hand panel. You can also observe this in operation in ipernity now, as you may already have done for this article. Let us know what you think about it.
3) There are also some improvements to our own website. In the group display, the right-hand panel 'About this group' has been expanded by the link 'See other limitations'. There you can now see at a glance all the settings that the group administrator has made. See left hand part of this illustration:
Moreover, the pop-up list for adding or suggesting a photo for a group has been revised (right hand part of the illustration). A group for which posts are closed is now shown instead of causing confusion by its omission. Of course, although they are now listed, such groups cannot be selected.
4) The article The ipernity Homepage - Part 1 now has been continued. The continuation deals with the demands on the pictures. This article is highly recommended. Please follow this link: The ipernity Homepage - Part 2.
