Hey Cherry blossom has appeared!!!
As they used to say in my family ......

"Spring has sprung, the grass is risen, I wonder where that birdie is....
The bird is on the wing - don't be silly - the wing is on the bird!"

Yep - I had a strange upbringing at times!!!! For some reason it came to me, when I saw the gorgeous cherry blossom.

Yesterday we had horrendous weather - very strong winds, and heavy rain - Storm Noah I do believe. So imagine my delight when I woke up this morning and saw this blue sky and cherry blossom. No wind neither - amazing......

Please bear in mind, these pictures were taken from indoors - my bedroom window in fact. So the focus isn't as sharp as I'd like. I watched my grey squirrel in the garden, play "catch" with Stanley my magpie!!!! They were going up and down the tree trunks and going round and round - it was so amusing. Neither got close enough to each other for any danger, it looked as if they were playing. I didn't take any pictures, they were just too quick.

My son came up to see me yesterday but couldn't stay long, because he was concerned about trying to drive through that awful weather - it had taken him 2 1/2 hours to get up here, and it was probably going to take the same on the way back. Shame he didn't come up today!!!!

I watch the cctv of the sea pool at Westward Ho! (it's the only way I can see the sea at the moment!) and the sea was so churned up - there was foam blowing all over the place. Totally different today though - incredible.

Okay folks - I hope you all had a good Easter and are coping with this week. Take care and we'll be in touch again soon.

Lovely blossom, Jenny !

The village below me has some out as well, but not mine, yet - that 800plus feet altitude slows the spring warming down quite a bit.

However, saw a pied wagtail with a beak-full of moss this afternoon, and a few days ago the mrs blackbird was carrying some straw / hay, also for nest building ...

Hope you had a good holiday weekend.

Thanks for these kind words. Yes I would imagine that height of 800plus feet, would take longer to help the blossom come out. I just love this time of year - the garden looks so gorgeous with the flowers. I wish you a great weekend to come..

Such lovely trees. You're lucky to have them right outside your windeeow. We have lots of cherry blossoms nearby. Actually an entire park! Its called Brsnch brook park and is in Newark and Belleville, NJ. It encompasses part of both towns. Its quite famous and actually we get entire groups of tourists that come all the way from Japan every year! Im a little jaded as I grew up with them right near me. Its only about 5 minutes away. But I still appreciate the beauty when we drive through.
Shame Tony couldn't stay longer. Especially after such a long time between visits. Like you said he should have rescheduled. So long as he got home safely.

Yes it was a shame about Tony's quick visit, but I'll explain another time to you. I never tire of the view from my window. Seeing blossom and flowers is just stunning.
