Some research. I logged in to that other site in one browser and opened the Stats at the Referrers page. Using a different browser without being logged in I searched for 'ashford' & 'nsw'. This displayed 6 pictures 4 of which were mine. This immediately displayed the selection with 4 views in Referring Domain. I then quickly dragged the scroll bar down the the bottom. I saw lots of empty grey rectangles. The 4 at the end of the scroll-down eventually displayed, none of the 4 were mine. The Referrers page then updated from 4 to show 18 views of my photos. I saw none of the additional 14 photos. (There are 30 publicly visible photos of mine which come up when I search my photos only).

I then scrolled up slowly so that my 30 photos were visible along with the 24 others and didn't get any further update on the count.

I then scrolled down clicking on a few of mine. Next check of the Stats showed 78 views. Scrolling up again raised views to 107. Going to my photostream from a view of a single photo gave 55 views of the stream, again far more than I actually saw.

Scrolling back and forth through the 'Reflected Bridges' group produced no views on a shot of mine. Stepping through the group gave 1 additional view on the photo in and a thumbnail in the list of viewed photos but no referrer mention.

Why did I do this? I was trying to figure out the algorithm used. Not a consistent result and have run out of interest.

At least F is still existing so photos can be copied out. When I was first looking for a site to use as both off-site backup and organised display Photopic seemed to be the one most used by Australians. There was a lot of anger when it disapeared. Fortunately I found it more of a pain to use than F, particularly the way views included my views.
