The Glamour of the old Stars...
This is the 40's & 50's actress Martha Raye to the right.. Someone had sent me an email about her. What it reminded me of is my love of the era in regards to the glamor of the stars and overall style of the day.. The way they dressed, did their hair and the pictures! Oh, I love this soft look the way it's done! It gives a feel of being special to the photo.. I love to watch old movies just to look at the clothes.. The movie "White Christmas" with Rosemary Clooney, Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Vera-Ellen... I just love the dresses they wear in that! Especially the "Show" dresses and the Christmas gowns they have on at the very end... Even the men with their suits and hats.. So very dapper! I look at pictures of my mom and my aunt when they were young.. The clothes were awesome.. So classy! Even the bathing suits were fantastic.. Now I know fashion always goes around. But this is one I wish would come around completely.. Even the makeup and way these pictures are taken.. This may have been before I was born for the most part but I feel like this is the time I could be happy.. To me it would feel like playing dress up every day!

Oh Maggie I hate that word Bling! Plus it's slang from the Hip hop culture and I hate that its another blemish that ruins the language. I prefer the word sparkle! It's so much more descriptive! But yes the 40's and 50's definitely dressed better by far!
