Bad News for KCP&L and Westar Energy Fans
I got some bad news for any Kansas City Power & Light, MoPub, Aquila ,and Westar Energy of Kansas fans out there. My Step Mom was telling me today that KCP&L and Westar have merged and changing their name to “Evergy Inc”. And all the rebranding won’t take effect until 2019.

I'd heard about that... could be another era of mergers upon us.

There were a series of mergers during the 1990s, the last major one being the one that created Xcel Energy.

Didn't Empire District recently merge with another utility to form Liberty Utils? Anyhow, these modern names just seem odd-a bit dull in my opinion.
