Well, well, well...
F***r is offering Pro subscriptions again. At twice the price they usta be, and still with the crappy "improved" layout, but-- it's obviously a backpedal. Yahoo revenues for 2nd quarter again missed the Street's expectation...could it be that the New! Awesome! business model isn't so awesome after all?

Well, I'm not intending to go back any time soon! But I find it hilarious--and ironic--because the attitude during the Great! Awesome! rollout back in May 2013 was that "We don't need no stinkin' subscribers! We got advertisers." So they throw their established customers under the bus and..what? those vast new ad streams aren't forthcoming? Oh, gee... (Yahoo has missed revenue expectations for a number of quarters now.) So now they're saying "pretty please, come back"--but it's a lot easier to drive customers away than lure them back. The whole thing smacks of desperation.

And it's why I've thought that Marissa didn't have a _clue_ about how to run a retail operation. But at least she's likely to be gone soon at this rate.
