Ohhhhhhhhhhh, columbine!!! Such breathtaking flowers in such a dizzying array of colors in the cultivated species! I ADORE THEM! And yet, such a maddening flower to photograph well for the entire blossom...you can get a crisp face or a crisp side view but to get an angle with clarity and depth...not so easy unless there is nothing behind because the flowers are so DEEP! :D What a wonderful flower for our education as macro photographers, and so very rewarding. :)

In the end, I think that even if you CAN get a crisp angled image, you lose recognition of the rear of the flower so I think a front or side view works best. :)
